I still find myself needing to repeat this little mantra when crossing the street. I suppose when you spend your whole life looking left, right, then left again to cross the street, it's a hard habit to break. It doesn't help that traffic rules are treated, shall we say, a little flippantly, so cars and especially scooters, can be seen zipping haphazardly from all directions. It is a bit like what I imagine driving in space will be like. How will they keep traffic flowing safely in space?? Maybe some kind of force field will keep people in their place.
